Top 3 Movies of 2007

I thought about doing a list of top albums for 2007 but I think that'd take to long. I really haven't watched that many new movies in the past year, so its not a very impressive list nor does it include impressive arthouse flicks.

Anyway my top three for 2007:

Pans Labyrinth - This movie was the best I saw for 2007, a true Masterpiece. I definitely need to purchase this dvd. I'm hoping to get time to get into similar style films, people should recommend me stuff to check out.

Death Proof - To be honest I was expecting more from this film, with that said without a doubt I had very high expectations. A classic revenge film, definitely not a classic Tarantino film but good viewing none the less. I think it's important to remember how the film was originally intented to be viewed, as a grindhouse style double feature. I really need to checkout how the two films came together and the shortened version (actually the non extended version) of Death Proof. A lot of people complained there was to much unnecessary dialog thrown in to bulk it up for its own release but that didn't bother me, probably because I find QT's dialog to be always entertaining, so whatever.

300 - I heard this film had an incredibly high opening weekend and 'even' received good reviews from critics. A two hour gnarly medievil battle scene, obviously nothing to hate about that.
